POWER FACTOR FORMULA
Power Factor Formula :- it is the ratio of active power or true power to the
apparent power.

Apparent
power
OR

Active Power:- it is the actual power consumed or
utilized in an circuit is known as active power, active power symbolized by P and
measured in the unit of watts (w) .
P = Active Power
Active Power Formulas :-
P = VXI (for DC Circuit)

kW = √ (kVA2 – kVAR2)
Reactive Power :- when there is no current or voltage in an ac
circuit , reactive power
is symbolized by Q and messured in the unit of Volt-Amps- Resistance (VAR).
Q = Reactive Power

kVAR = √ (kVA2 – kW2)
Apparent Power :- it
is combination of true power and reactive power , apparent power symbolized by
S and measured in the unit of Volt-Amps (VA).

S = V I
kVA = √kW2 + kVAR2
